Summary
It's 1949 and Hartford museum administrator Juliet Van Allen has discovered her artist husband is having an affair. When her husband is found murdered, she convinces ex-con Elmer Vartanian to supply her with an alibi in exchange for something he wants. Vartanian is being coerced into scouting the museum for a heist by the gang that has kidnapped his daughter. Dogged by a scandal-monger newsman and a shrewd detective and under the judgmental scrutiny of Hartford's elite, the pair try to outrun them all in a 1948 Lincoln Cosmopolitan
